We have rural winding lanes, urban highways, built up residential streets and coastal roads with views over the Bristol Channel. We will work with you to find a suitable location with a backdrop to suit your needs. We work closely with our Highways departments and will endeavour to accommodate your requirements where possible.

Please note the following when requesting permission to use or park on the Highway (including the use of pavements) for filming purposes:

IMPORTANT - All applications for use of the public Highways require a SITE SPECIFIC risk assessment in order to be considered with generic risk assessments not being accepted. We cannot process an application that includes the use of the Highways unless we receive a site-specific risk assessment.

TRAFFIC CONTROL

If you require a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order, commonly referred to as a full road closures please complete and submit this form – TTRO form. Please be aware that TTRO’s can take between 8 - 12 weeks to process legally and last minute requests will not be considered.

If you require temporary traffic control please complete and submit this form – Temporary Signal Application. Please allow a min 10 working days for approval.

 The closure of a pavement requires approved Traffic Management using an approved contractor. Please complete and submit this form –TemporarySignal Application for this to be considered along with Risk Assessments and Method Statement details.

PARKING

If you require any on-street parking, please provide a map highlighting the exact spaces you wish to use along with a description of the vehicles parked e.g car/van/lorry etc. Please be mindful that our network occupancy isn’t solely for production crews and the Council has to balance the expectations of the network user. Consideration must always be given to keeping carriageway space to a minimum where physically possible.

If you plan to make use of the parking spaces for any purpose other than parking – e.g sighting a generator/ cherry picker etc, please provide your method statement and liaise with the network management team, providing plans for consideration.

Please note, approval for the use of the parking bays is restricted to the activities on which permission is granted. Parking on pavements is strictly prohibited unless prior approval is given by the Council. It should it be observed that for all highway assets that have been damaged costs of their repair will be recharged back to the production.

Failure to comply with the above will result in delays beyond the Councils control and will delay your proposed production dates. It may also jeopardise future applications being approved. The council want to work closely with productions to ensure your activity goes smoothly, however please note customers expectations have to be managed too.
